With a typical winter weather forecast of rain, freezing rain, sleet, and snow, (of which, only rain arrived, also typical) Crista Borras this weekend decided to throw out her cue sheets for the Saturday weekend century and lead a meandering tour around close-in D.C. roads.
I posted a photo essay at my Flickr page, see it Here.
A changing cast of characters joined and departed as we wandered on trails and quiet suburban roads. We shivered our way out and back on Beach Drive, then cycled through Bethesda to Glen Echo and then Potomac, where we stopped for an early lunch. Next we rode the Capital Crescent Trail down to Georgetown and around Hains Point. From there I peeled off to go on a tandem ride/Christmas shopping excursion with MG, while the group rode to Mt. Vernon and back to the start at Pierce Mill in Rock Creek Park. They ended up with 93 miles, me with about 63.
