2009 1200K Schedule

UPDATE Sept. 30: Tom Rosenbauer tells me that the 1200K schedule is still under discussion. I’ve pulled his message from the comments section. Plus, he reminded me that his Endless Mountains Randonnee will be 1240K. Thanks Tom!

I’m passing along an update from RUSA:
– The Shenandoah 1200 has been rescheduled 1 week later for June 11, 2009
– The Last Chance 1200 has been rescheduled 1 week earlier for September 9, 2009
This is still “tentative” until RUSA posts the “official” 2009 calender.

BTW, the Endless Mountains is actually 1240k. By adding an additional 40k, the time limit is 93 hours and uniform pacing can be used to calculate open/close times for all the controles — this relaxed closing time will allow riders to get a few extra hours of sleep for the first and second overnight controles.

Previous post:

Get those calendars out, folks. Mark Thomas, president of RUSA, sent out a tentative schedule of ACP randonnees next year. Without further ado:

June 4 Shenandoah 1200 (VA)
July 6 Gold Rush 1200 (CA)
July 26 London-Endinburgh-London 1400
Sept. 16 Last Chance 1200 (CO)
Sept. 30 Endless Mountains 1200 (PA)

The new kid on the block, Tom Rosenbauer’s PA 1200K, is getting strong interest. He quickly filled his first 30 slots and has expanded to 40. See more at his PA Randonneurs site.

  2. Thanks, Ed,

Your posting prompted me to sign up for Endless Mountains before it’s too late. And it’s great to see that the time limit will be 93 hours!
