Yesterday we celebrated the 12 Days of Randonneurmas by talking about the hi-zoot Garmin HCx GPS. You may have noticed how much space it uses. For the 6th Day of Randonneurmas, I present the Nitto Lamp Holder, a super handy, classy accessory handlebar mount.
It’s a fact of randonneuring that there is never enough handlebar space for all the gadgets. Even if you mount your headlights on the fork or front rack, you still need space for a backup light if needed. Add a computer, GPS, cue sheet holder, and it becomes pretty clear that the Nitto holder comes in pretty handy.
It’s all of $31 at Ben’s Cycles in Milwaukee. Ben’s has a lot of neat stuff for sale, including the Nitto Skewer Light Mount, which I used at PBP last year. It’s not the best solution, since most headlights are intended to be mounted higher up, but it worked well with my always-on Cateye light.
Tomorrow: Warding off cold toes!
