Sheldon Brown has passed away. The entire cycling community owes a debt to Sheldon, who taught us that it’s OK to do whatever we want with, and to, our bikes, and to always have fun along the way. A group of us visited Harris Cyclery in 2004 before BMB and it had that special item every shop should carry: passion. An email circulating from his wife Harriett said he died of a massive heart attack last night. More Here, with a couple of eulogies from the cycling blogosphere Here and Here.
This news is very sad. I never met Sheldon but I’ve followed him for years. He was a great inspiration to me and I will miss him. He suffered through health issues for the last few years. Sheldon has a wonderful wife, Harriet and 2 great children, George and Tova. My thoughts are with them at this time. Rest in Peace Sheldon.
